"Cannot execute query : bad type for long xxxxxxx" error when opening vCenter Server Instances UI in VMware Cloud Director 10.2.1/10.2.2

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Opening the Provider Portal > Resources tab > Infrastructure Resources > vCenter Server Instances UI in VMware Cloud Director 10.2.1 and VMware Cloud Director 10.2.2 shows the error:

Cannot execute query : bad type for long xxxxxxx

• vCenter Server Instances UI is not loading.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

The issue is caused due to incorrect datastore space information received from the vCenter which affects the UI view from showing the vCenter instances correctly.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware Cloud Director 10.2.1 and VMware Cloud Director 10.2.2.
The issue is resolved in VMware Cloud Director 10.3, available at VMware Downloads .


Workaround:
If the environment cannot be upgraded, please open a Support Request.
Database modifications are required to update the view and will require VMware Technical Support assistance.
