Storage Policy is not listed when creating a new Provider VDC

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Storage Policy is not listed when creating a new Provider VDC.
• Only the *(Any) Storage Policy is listed in the Add Storage step.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director for Service Provider 9.7.x
VMware Cloud Director for Service Provider 9.5.x

Cause

This is caused by an issue with how vCloud Director presents the list of Storage Policies available to the Provider vDC.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting vCloud Director for Service Providers 9.5 and 9.7.

Workaround:
To workaround the issue you will need to follow the steps below:

1. On the Manage & Monitor tab, in the left pane, click Provider VDCs.
2. Click the + icon to add a New Provider VDC.
3. At the Add Storage step, select the *(Any) Storage Policy.
4. Complete the Provider VDC creation.
5. Once the new Provider VDC completes creation, open it from the list.
6. Open the Storage Policies tab and use the + icon to add a new Storage Policy.
7. Select the desired Storage Policy which was absent during creation.
8. After the Storage Policy has been added the *(Any) policy can now be disabled and deleted if desired.
