Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
The Organization VDC network in question is a direct connection to the external network.
The external network has multiple subnets assigned.
When trying to manually assign an IP address to a VM from a subnet other than the first one, you receive the following error:
"The following IP addresses are not in the subnet range"
Environment
VMware Cloud Director for Service Provider 9.x
Cause
This is a known limitation of the Flash client. There is an issue with theĀ validation of the subnets on the external network in which it will only display the first subnet.
Resolution
This issue is resolved in Cloud Director 10.1, available for download atĀ VMware Downloads. Note that from Cloud Director 10.1 onward the Flex-based Flash UI has been removed from the product and is no longer supported.
Workaround: To workaround this issue, please perform this operation in the HTML5 client. In the Flash client, the Static IP pool and DHCP IP assignment options can be used to work around this issue.
