This issue occurs when the NSX-T connection in Cloud Director and NSX Advanced Load Balancer are not using the same IP address or FQDN.
When registering the NSX-T Manager we cannot mix IP addresses and FQDNs, we must chose one or the other for all solutions including Cloud Director and NSX Advanced Load Balancer.
Update the NSX-T connection configuration in Cloud Director and NSX Advanced Load Balancer so both are using theĀ IP address or both are using the FQDN.
Once both are using the same connection details retry the operation to add an NSX-T Cloud in Cloud Director.
These requirements regarding the FQDN or IP address of the NSX-T Manager are outlined in the Cloud Director documentation here:
Managing NSX Advanced Load Balancing, Register a Controller Instance:
Note:
The FQDN or IP address that you use to register NSX-T Manager with NSX Advanced Load Balancer must match the FQDN or IP address of the NSX-T Manager instance that you used to register NSX-T Data Center with VMware Cloud Director.
