Issue/Introduction

• Red exclamation next to Register Interfaces and Entitytypes when trying to configure Container Service Extension 4.x on step 'Setting up the Configuration for CSE Server'.
• You have completed the first two steps, Downloading OVAs and Create Catalog and Upload OVAs.
• In the Browser Logs (F12) you see the following failed requests:

400 Response to POST https://vcd.example.com/cloudapi/1.0.0/interfaces
400 Response to POST https://vcd.example.com/cloudapi/1.0.0/entityTypes (vcdkeconfig)
400 Response to POST https://vcd.example.com/cloudapi/1.0.0/entityTypes (capvcdcluster)
403 Response to POST https://vcd.example.com/cloudapi/1.0.0/entityTypes/urn:vcloud:type:vmware:capvcdCluster:1.1.0/accessControls

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

This issue can occur if there are stale entries from a previous Container Service Extension 4.x installation attempt.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, remove leftover components from previous Container Service Extension installation attempt.

1. This involves making modifications to Cloud Director Database , so please make sure to take the backup:  Backup and Restore of VMware Cloud Director Appliance
2. Please open a case with Broadcom Support and note this Knowledge Article ID (325540). For more information, see Creating and managing Broadcom support cases
