  • The task fails with an error of the form:
The operation failed because no suitable resource was found. Out of 1 candidate hubs:
1 hubs eliminated because: Compute requirement not met: [type:CpuMHzMin, value:XXX, mandatory:true, checkMinHostCapacity:false].  Rejected hubs: resgroup-XXXX
  • You have an Org VDC which is using the Allocation Model.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

This issue is caused by a communication issue between vCenter and Cloud Director.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, a reconnect between Cloud Director and vCenter must be completed to align the compute requirements.
  1. Log into the Cloud Director Provider Portal and navigate to the Resources tab.
  2. Click the vCenter Instances tab.
  3. Choose the radio button of the vCenter that Cloud Director is connected to and click Reconnect.
  4. Modify the Virtual Machine again as needed.

Additional Information

If a vCenter reconnect does not resolve the issue, ensure that the relevant resource pool in vCenter has sufficient resources. If adequate resources are available, check the HA admission control settings, which can be adjusted or disabled based on the customer's requirements.
