Issue/Introduction

The end of general support for the VMware NSX Migration for VMware Cloud Director tool was January 31st, 2024.
After the EOGS date, support services for the V2T tool will no longer be available.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

The NSX Migrator for Cloud Director was End of Support Life (EOSL) on January 31st, 2024.

Resolution

End of life of the VMware NSX Migration for VMware Cloud Director tool was on August 31 2023. 
The tool will be in EOGS on January 31 2024.
During this transition phase from EOL to EOGS, no future development will take place and any updates that that are released will only contain bug fixes.

The source code for the the tool is now available as an open-source initiative. More information is available here

Service providers that require additional migration assistance post January 31 2024 can engage with a number of “VMware Preferred Partners”. For more information, please contact your VMware partner manager.

 

Since the publication of the article above, the source code has been made available as an open source initiative and is now published below:

Additional Information

As VMware are no longer providing support for the tool, it is recommended that you either

1. Open an issue via Github to allow the issue to be reviewed by the development team
2. Work with your account team to engage one of the partners that are equipped to assist with migration activities.
