How do you enter data for 'Detailed Forecast Cost' and other Forecast attributes?

Issue/Introduction

Question: 

How it works or how is it edited for the Forecast attributes such as the 'Detailed Forecast Cost' and other Forecast attributes? 

Answer:

In version 13.0, the Change Impact and Upgrade Guide informs us that the Simple Budget 'forecast' fields were removed. Instead there should only be 'Planned' and 'Budget' attributes.

As of this version, it is true that you can no longer have the old, simple 'forecast' attributes on the Project Simple Budget page, and no 'forecast' attributes exist on Cost Plan Detail Object.

However, if you go to the Project, Attributes list, you can find 'Detailed Forecast Benefit' and 'Detailed Forecast Cost' attributes. If you go to the Project, Hierarchy Tab and go to the Financial Rollup - Detail view, you can configure both the 'Detailed Forecast Cost' and 'Detailed Forecast Benefit' attributes.

It does not make sense that these attributes exist on the project object and available on the project hierarchy pages as there is no way to enter data into the detailed financial cost plan.

It seems that these attributes should be removed / not appear as there is no way to enter data into the Cost Plan Detailed Financial Planning object.

 

The following issue is logged with development to ensure that these attributes are removed from the application as they do not provide any functionality.

 

CLRT-79610 : 'Detailed Forecast Cost' and 'Detailed Forecast Benefit' attributes

 

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Login to the application as an administrator
2. Go to Administration, Studio: Objects
3. Open the Cost Plan Detail Object, go to Attributes tab
4. Search for 'forecast' attributes - no stock attributes exist
5. Open the Project Object, go to Attributes tab
6. Search for 'forecast' attributes - find 'Detailed Forecast Cost' and 'Detailed Forecast Benefit' attributes exist
7. Go to a Project, Hierarchy tab
8. Navigate to the Financial Rollup - Detail view
9. Click 'Configure' link in Options menu
10. Go to Fields and open the time-varying (TSV) field and see the list of available attributes includes these 2 attributes for configuration
11. If you configure the fields on the page, no data is shown because there is no way to get data into these fields

Expected Result: 'Detailed Forecast Cost' and 'Detailed Forecast Benefit' attributes should be removed from application configuration 

Actual Result: 'Detailed Forecast Cost' and 'Detailed Forecast Benefit' attributes are available and don't provide any functionality 

 

 

Resolution:  

This issue is logged with development and is in review.

 

Workaround:  

Remove these attributes from any views that you have configured, such as the Hierarchy pages or Cost plan pages.
