Issue/Introduction

vSAN Skyline Health reports the warning "Controller disk group mode is VMware certified"

 

Environment

VMware vSAN 8.0.x

Cause

This alert is triggered when the controller used for vSAN disks are not used in the supported mode.

vSAN controllers (vmhba) can support: Hybrid, All Flash, or both.

Resolution

Validate the controller in use on VMware Compatibility Guide

If it is not supported, contact the hardware vendor to procure one which supports the required mode: All Flash or Hybrid.
