vCenter UI not loading tabs or pages "Cannot read properties of undefined"

Issue/Introduction

When trying to access vCenter HTML5 UI some pages or tabs will not fully load. The following error will be displayed in some pages or tabs:

Error: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'event')

 

Cause

This is an issue with the web browser and its cache and cookies. This is normally seen after a vCenter upgrade but not exclusive to upgrades.

Resolution

Clearing the cache and cookies on the web-browser in use will resolve this issue.

Workaround:

To confirm this is a cache/cookies issue you can use a private browsing feature or a different web browser that does not share the same cache/cookies and confirm the issue does not continue.

To clear the localized page data quickly, refresh the page (either selecting the refresh icon or the F5 key), while also holding down the shift key.
