Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Security Groups (SG) created within the Application Rule Manager (ARM) session are not showing up in the drop down menu of the applied-to column of the recommended rule.

Environment

VMware NSX for vSphere 6.4.x

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware NSX for vSphere 6.4.1 and 6.4.2.


This issue is resolved in VMware NSX for vSphere 6.4.4, available at VMware Downloads. .

Workaround:
To work around this issue, either do one of the following:

• Update the existing Security Group (SG) in the applied-to field to include other virtual machines/entities.
• Create a new SG in the common Grouping objects tab with required entities and use that new SG in the applied-to field of the recommended rule in ARM tab.
