Backup & Restore UI page is not loading in NSX-T Manager UI

Issue/Introduction

NSX backup and restore page fails to load fully. The initial page shows, but no content is displayed and no configuration changes can be made.

Cause

This issue is caused by a high number of backups including aged backups or backups from multiple environments going into the same folder. If this folder contains too many files there is a timeout on the read which leads to the page failing to load.

Resolution

Resolved in VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.2.2

Workaround:

• Remove old/unnecessary backups manually on the file server or via the script located on the NSX Manager. Instructions are contained within the following doc: Administrator guide - Remove old backups

• If multiple NSX environments are storing their backups on the same location, designate separate folders for each location

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:

User not able to change backup config because it depends on overview API to complete. As the system contains huge number of backups, API is taking longer time to give back response.
