Issue/Introduction

FileDump: FAILD: Couldn't dump header: 0xbad0001

• File dump is configured and enabled.
• The the core dump location is on an FCoE device managed by qfle3f or an iSCSI device managed by qfle3i driver.
• When a Purple Scree of Death (PSOD) occurs, file dump fails with error:

  FileDump: FAILD: Couldn't dump header: 0xbad0001

Environment

VMware vSphere 7.0.x
VMware vSphere 8.02

Resolution

If the core dump location is the device managed by qfle3f or qfle3i driver, it doesn't support file dump.
Configure the core dump location other than the device managed by qfle3f or qfle3i driver.
