Issue/Introduction

Environment

6.x

8.x

Cause

CPU reservation is enabled on the resource pool and set to a high value that the destination host cannot accommodate.

Resolution

You can resolve this issue using one of the following options:

  1. Set the CPU reservation on the resource pool to "0 Minimum."
  2. Set it to a value lower than the current setting. (For example, if it's set to 200.000 MHz, try 100.000 MHz.)

Workaround:

  • To work around this issue, set the CPU reservation to Minimum on the resource pool.

Impact/Risks:

  • You won't be able to migrate VMs between hosts that cannot meet the resource pool reservation requirements.
