Issue/Introduction
Cannot vMotion a powered-on VM within a resource pool between two hosts in the same cluster.
Cause
CPU reservation is enabled on the resource pool and set to a high value that the destination host cannot accommodate.
Resolution
You can resolve this issue using one of the following options:
- Set the CPU reservation on the resource pool to "0 Minimum."
- Set it to a value lower than the current setting. (For example, if it's set to 200.000 MHz, try 100.000 MHz.)
Workaround:
- To work around this issue, set the CPU reservation to Minimum on the resource pool.
Additional Information
Impact/Risks:
- You won't be able to migrate VMs between hosts that cannot meet the resource pool reservation requirements.
