How to configure vRealize Business for Cloud Prices to match costs

Issue/Introduction

This article provides information to locate and remove additional services when Total Monthly Prices or Costs do not match in reports. That is, when you want to use vRBC as a chargeback to Business Units.

Note: Additional services can contribute large rates to the price causing it to be much higher than the price.

VMware vRealize Business for Cloud Advanced 7.x

Cause

Resolution

To locate and remove Additional Services:

1. Navigate to Business Management tab from vRA Cafe.
2. On the menu, click Pricing and Charges > Pricing.
3. Click Edit > Edit Pricing.
4. For each active Policy, complete these steps:
   1. Click on the policy to expand Parent Group. For example, vCenter.
   2. Click on the policy to expand Policy.
   3. Under Additional Services, click Edit.
   4. Click X to delete each Additional Service.
   5. Click Save on Additional Services and save under the Policy.
5. After all Policies have their Additional Services removed, click Re-calculate.
6. Select Re-calculate From date and select the first of the month, so that the entire month is recalculated.
7. Click Save and Yes to confirm.
   
   After the recalculation process is complete, you will be prompted with this message:
   
   "Global synchronization process is complete. Refresh the page to see the latest data."
   
8. Click Yes.
