Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
LCM may stop processing any requests and all the requests will start failing as soon as submitted.

Environment

VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 1.x
VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 2.x

Cause

This issue might occur when the root disk space of LCM VA has reached 100% and subsequently causes LCM to stop processing any request.

To confirm, run the df -h command and verify:

root@sc-rdops-vm12-dhcp-120-61 [ ~ ]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
devtmpfs 7.9G 0 7.9G 0% /dev
tmpfs 7.9G 8.0K 7.9G 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs 7.9G 852K 7.9G 1% /run
tmpfs 7.9G 0 7.9G 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
/dev/sda3 19G 19G 0 100% /
tmpfs 7.9G 11M 7.9G 1% /tmp
/dev/mapper/data_vg-data 99G 49G 45G 53% /data
/dev/sda1 120M 31M 84M 27% /boot

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 1.0 and later versions.
Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:
To work around this issue, perform the following steps after you have verified that the root disk space is full.
  1. SSH to vRSLCM appliance using root credentials.
  2. Download the 59237_moveXenonDb.7z script attached to this Knowledge Base article and extract the moveXenonDb.sh script.
  3. Copy the extracted moveXenonDb.sh script to the LCM appliance.
  4. Change the permission of the script to convert into an executable:
chmod a+x moveXenonDb.sh
  1.  Run the script:
./moveXenonDb.sh
