Issue/Introduction

This article provides information about DRS advanced setting IsClusterManaged.
  • By default, this advanced option is set to 0. This implies, you can disable DRS for the cluster.
Note: If you want to be able to disable DRS and you agree to remove the resource pools in this cluster, you can set this advanced option to 0.
  • If this option is set to 1, you cannot disable DRS for the cluster, and the disable operation will fail with InvalidArgument fault  with message Cannot disable DRS for a managed cluster.
  • For vCloud Director managed DRS clusters, this will prevent users from accidentally disabling DRS, in which case all the resource pools created by vCD will be deleted and it is catastrophic to vCD operated environment.
