SRM upgrade fails with the error "Failed to register to vCenter Server"

Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
SRM upgrade fails during the Registering to VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager service stage.
In the vim-srm-msi.log file, you see errors similar to:
VMware: Srm::Installation::Utility::GetMsgFromErrorTable: ERROR: MsiGetActiveDatabase() failed. Trying MsiOpenDatabase(). VMware: Srm::Installation::Utility::GetMsgFromErrorTable: INFORMATION: Error message is Failed to register service. Please close Windows Server Manager window and Windows Services dialog and retry.%n%nDetails:%n VMware: Srm::Installation::Utility::GetMsgFromErrorTable: ERROR: MsiGetActiveDatabase() failed. Trying MsiOpenDatabase().
In the srminstall.log file, you see errors similar to:

Environment
VMware Site Recovery Manager 5.8.x VMware Site Recovery Manager 5.5.x
Cause
This issue occurs because Server Manager window was open on the SRM machine during installation.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, ensure to close the Server Manager window and retry the upgrade.
