Logging out of the vRA portal reports a "HTTP Status 403" error

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • When logging out of the VMware vRealize Automation portal, you see the error:

    HTTP Status 403 - Forbidden
    Type Status Report
    Messsage forbidden
    Description Access to the specified resource has been forbidden

  • In the /var/log/vmware/vcac/localhost.YYYY-MM-DD.log file, you see entries similar to:

    <YYYY-MM-DD>T<time> SEVERE [tomcat-http--81] org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationContext.log Exception while dispatching incoming RPC call

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 6.2.x

Cause

This issue occurs when the SSO node that is processing the logout request does not have the credential information. This issue occurs in a SSO clustered environment where there are multiple active SSO nodes.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in vRealize Automation 7.0, available at VMware Downloads.
