Issue/Introduction

NETSCOUT’s nGeniusONE solution provides service assurance and performance management functions across network, service and application tiers. nGeniusONE uses a patented metadata model called Adaptive Service Intelligence that is derived from IP packet flows in real-time.
The NSX version of NETSCOUT vSCOUT is a service virtual machine (SVM) that contains NETSCOUT’s lightweight vSCOUT packet analysis agent. The NSX architecture includes interfaces that enable selected partners modules to access network traffic flowing into and out of VMs. The NSX version of vSCOUT uses these interfaces to efficiently and passively analyze the performance and health of applications running on the VMs. NSX provides a security policy framework that controls whether a copy of an individual VM’s packets are sent to the NSX version of vSCOUT.
The NSX version of vSCOUT can also be configured to copy packets to an instance of vSTREAM, which provides additional packet analysis and storage capabilities (see Figure below).

Troubleshooting :

To troubleshoot issues in vSCOUT SVM, follow below steps:
  1. Login to the vSCOUT SVM using provided credentials.
  2. Got to, /opt/NetScout/rtm/log and check logs in files, log_file_<date>.log and log_file_db_<date>.log.
  3. To collect logs from vSCOUT SVM and PMC, zip complete /opt/NetScout/rtm/log directory.
  4. To check the packets counters:
