Issue/Introduction

With Datacom running as an Imbedded MUF (IMUF) in a Common Components and Services ENF address space, how are commands to Datacom issued?

Here is the Datacom command issued to the ENF address space:

     /f enfstartedtask, COMM TIME_SYNC

The command failed with CAS9216E - invalid command not found

Why is the command not found? Is there a way to execute this command directly to the internal Datacom MUF running under ENF?

Environment

Datacom/AD running inside the ENF address spaces as an Imbedded Multi-User (IMUF)

Resolution

When using the Imbedded MUF (IMUF) feature of ENF, issue Datacom MUF console commands by using the ENF IMUFCMD command.

The Datacom command above can be issued this way:

/f enfstartedtask,IMUFCMD('TIME_SYNC')

Note that IMUFCMD can also be abbreviated as IMUFC.

Additional Information

For more information on using the ENF IMUFCMD, please see the Common Components and Services documentation for the Imbedded Multi-User Facility (IMUF) Option, and specifically, the section on the IMUFCMD function.

As always, please contact Broadcom support for Datacom if you have further questions.
