Issue/Introduction

This article provides information on VMware support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) and SLES for SAP Applications.

VMware vSphere ESXi 5.1

Resolution

VMware supports both SLES and SLES for SAP Applications as Guest Operating Systems running in vSphere environments. VMware recommends to contact the vendor when choosing between these two guest operating systems.

SLES for SAP applications is certified by SAP and SUSE and includes core operating system and the accompanying software changes that are optimized for SAP application. SUSE has also validated SLES for SAP Applications in High Availability (HA) configurations. Contact the SUSE support services for the latest information.
