Issue/Introduction

You might need to configure networking on Solaris virtual machines with a VMXNET or a VMXNET3 network driver.

Resolution

On Solaris virtual machines, you must use the ndd tool with VMXNET or VMXNET3 drivers. You should not use the dladm tool as it works with drivers that use the GLDv3 framework. The VMXNET and VMXNET3 drivers for Solaris use the GLDv2 framework. For details, see the Oracle Solaris documentation.
