Issue/Introduction

Question:

Is IFCID 148 (thread-stats) written to SMF?  If so, can you easily filter/extract the data from SMF?

Answer:

Record 148 (thread-stats) is not written to SMF. This record is only captured with a MONITOR type trace.  Insight's MONITOR trace is always started with destination (OPx), not SMF. Accounting  record (003) is nearly identical and offers a field called QMDA_CONNECTIONS which reports on the DB2 connection name.

Some other information that might also help clarify is found in Chapter 3 of the Writing Requests Manual under the heading of Reporting Control Block Data
