Issue/Introduction
VMware has officially declared, End of Availability Notification for VMware Aria Operations for Networks Universal per CPU Commitment Plan and VMware vRealize Network Insight Assurance and Verification.
VMware is going through an exciting transition to support the current software industry standard model of core-based pricing. This is a step for the related product SKUs in transitioning from CPU socket-based licensing to Core-based licensing to support the evolving industry landscape.
VMware is announcing End of Availability (EOA) for the following offerings effective November 3, 2023:
VMware Aria Operations for Networks Universal - per CPU Commitment Plan
VMware vRealize Network Insight Assurance and Verification
For all customers of these offerings, existing paid entitlements will continue until the end of your current subscription or term.
For customers of VMware Aria Operations for Networks Universal licenses per CPU, the platform will allow future expansion and mixing with the purchase of VMware Aria Operations for Networks Universal per Core licenses beginning with the 6.11 release, which is already available.
For on-premises deployment customers of VMware vRealize Network Insight Assurance and Verification (NAV SKU) who need additional coverage for their network devices (routers, switches, load balancers, firewall), you can purchase additional licenses of VMware Aria Operations for Networks Enterprise as required, allowing for sixteen (16) Core licenses per one (1) network device
For SaaS deployment customers of VMware vRealize Network Insight Assurance and Verification (NAV SKU) who need additional coverage for their network devices (routers, switches, load balancers, firewall) can purchase additional licenses of VMware Aria Operations for Networks Universal as required, allowing for sixteen (16) Core licenses per one (1) network device.
