VMware Cloud Foundation Upgrade fails because of NSX Service Deployments

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • In the SDDC Manager UI Lifecycle, the update fails with Error Code:
           ESX_UPGRADE_VUM_FAILED_REMEDIATION. 
  • In the vSphere Web Client, if you navigate to Networking and Security > Installation > Service Deployments, you see items with Failed Installation Status.​


Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 2.2.x

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware Cloud Foundation.
Currently, there is no resolution.​


Workaround:
To work around this issue:
 
  1. Locate the services that have a failed installation status in the vSphere Web Client (Go to Networking and Security page > Installation > Service Deployments tab).
  2. Use one of these options to correct the failed domain state for NSX:
  • Resolve the Installation Status by correcting the issues with the service deployment.
  • Remove the Service Deployments that have the Failed Installation Status.
 
Note: After the Service Deployment issue has been resolved, restart the VMware Cloud Foundation Lifecycle Upgrade.
