Issue 1	Cisco ACI parser failure due to Endpoint ARP table entries.
Versions Impacted	VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.8.0, 6.9.0, 6.10.0
How to identify the issue	In the collector logs check for “Exception java.lang.NullPointerException: null” for ACI parser.
Resolution	Apply the VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.10.0.P2.1686912349.patch.bundle to fix the issue.

 

Issue 2	UI becomes slow/Unresponsive when using the datetime picker in search bar.
Versions Impacted	VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.10.0
How to identify the issue	Try to change the date or time from the time selector in search bar. The time does not change and the UI becomes unresponsive.
Resolution	Apply the VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.10.0.P2.1686912349.patch.bundle to fix the issue.

 

Issue 3	Unable to add Huawei switch with stronger ciphers as data source

How to identify the issue	Search for "Root Cause: java.io.IOException: Cannot negotiate, proposals do not match. retErrorCode: FAILED" in collector logs.
Resolution	Apply the VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.10.0.P2.1686912349.patch.bundle to fix the issue.

 

Issue 4	False alerts triggered on Network Loop Detection for the NSX-T federation
Versions Impacted	VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.0.0 and above with NSX-T Federation 3.2.2
How to identify the issue	Observed that the partial data is populated and logical switch inventory is not sending it from collector.

Issue 5	Cisco ACI and Dell OS10 MX Switches parsing error.

How to identify the issue	For Dell MX Switch Search for Parser Exception "Exceptioncom.vnera.dataproviders.core.common.impl.dataprovider.utils.configutils.veriflow.ParserException" in collector logs.   For CISCO ACI search for "ERROR configutils.veriflow.Parser CISCOACI_10.1.2.130_OpMgr-0 parse:880 Exception java.lang.NullPointerException: null
Resolution	Apply the VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.10.0.P2.1686912349.patch.bundle to fix the issue.

 

Issue 6	GUI shows Alert Dropped Message: com.vnera.model.cisco.aci.ZONING_RULE.inventory Size: 14.895MB
Versions Impacted	VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.10.0
How to identify the issue	In vRNI UI, go to Settings --> Infrastructure and Support. In that you will see  problem in overall health. Click on the problem and the alert  will be seen.
Resolution	Apply the VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.10.0.P2.1686912349.patch.bundle to fix the issue.

 

Issue 7	Custom Dashboard shows historical data as pinned search query uses absolute timestamp instead of relative timestamp
Versions Impacted	VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.10.0
How to identify the issue	Pin a search query with timestamp (eg. "vm where cpu usage > 50% ") to a custom dashboard. wait for a min and Open that custom dashboard. That pinned search query will be showing the timestamp when the query was originally pinned due to which it will show the exact same data which was being shown at the time of pinning which is incorrect. In the case of correct result the search query should use relative time(the time of opening the custom dashboard) and show data accordingly.
Resolution	Apply the VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.10.0.P2.1686912349.patch.bundle to fix the issue.

 

Issue 8	User is not able to add NSX-T data source using Certificate based authentication
Versions Impacted	VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.7.0, 6.8.0, 6.9.0, 6.10.0
How to identify the issue	If an admin tries to add a NSX-T data source to vRNI and used certificate based authentication (also known as PI Authentication), they will see an error message indicating 'Something went wrong', and data source wont get added to vRNI.
Resolution	Apply the VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.10.0.P2.1686912349.patch.bundle to fix the issue.

 

Issue 9	Too many IPSets associated with flows causing processing lag and increased storage consumption
Versions Impacted	VMware Aria Operations for Networks  6.9.0 and 6.10.0
How to identify the issue	Identifying this issue is not very straightforward. If you observe lag in flow processing try running query like Source IPSets Count of flows group by source vm, destination vm  and if the highest count is > 35,

Issue 10	Cisco N9K switches logs "error: protocol identification string lack carriage return" error messages
Versions Impacted	VMware Aria Operations for Networks  6.9.0 and 6.10.0
How to identify the issue	In the collector logs, check for error message "protocol identification string lack carriage return"
Resolution	Apply the VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.10.0.P2.1686912349.patch.bundle to fix the issue.

Procedure to apply Aria Operation for Networks(vRNI) Patch from GUI:

1. Download the VMware-vRNI.6.10.0.P2.1686912349.patch.bundle file from here . Save the file on you local system.
2. Log into the vRealize Network Insight UI as an Administrator user.

Note: The default admin@local account can be used.

3. Navigate to Settings > Infrastructure and Support> Infrastructure and Updates  then under Product, select Click here.
4. Click Browse to select the  locally downloaded patch file (VMware-vRNI.6.10.0.P2.1686912349.patch.bundle) and click Upload.

Notes:

• When the upload is complete, vRealize Network Insight show the Bundle Upload Complete message notification within 2-3 minutes and the bundle processing happens in the background.
• Until the upload of the package happens, ensure that the session is not closed. If the session ends, you have to restart the upload process.
• Do not refresh the page after bundle upload, until you see the Update Available message notification.

5. In the Bundle Available message notification, click View details.

VMware Aria Operations for Networks (vRNI) Update screen appears.

6. Read the Before you proceed instruction and click Continue.
7. Wait for the pre-checks to complete, which verifies:the disk space, including the space required for migration

• the version
• the NTP sync status
• the bundle checksum

8. Click Install Now.

You can see the approximate time required to complete the update process on your setup.

9. Once the update process begins, the vRealize Network Insight Update screen provides the status of the update process.

Notes:

• If a node becomes inactive, the update process does not continue. The update will not resume until the node becomes active again.
• Once the platforms are updated, you can resume your normal vRealize Network Insight operations even though the collector update happens in parallel. Until the update process is completely over, the Node Version Mismatch detected message is shown in the Install and Support page.

10. Upon the completion of update process, you see the confirmation message.

          All platforms and the collectors nodes are updated.
