Issue/Introduction

VMware is announcing the end-of-life (EoL) of the vRealize True Visibility Suite Manager Management Pack. This vRealize Operations management pack will reach end-of-support (EoS) effective immediately and end-of-availability (EoA) effective February 3, 2023. Current installations of this management pack will no longer be supported and no updates will be made available.

Due to architecture changes in new versions of vROps/Aria Ops, support for cloud or cloud proxies cannot be added to vRealize True Visibility Suite Manager.

vRealize True Visibility Suite Manager was a Management Pack for vRealize Operations. Its primary use case was to help VMware Technical Support Engineers troubleshoot issues with other management packs from the True Visibility Suite.

The vRealize True Visibility Suite Manager Management Pack offered the following features:

• Solutions Licensing: Allowed the user to apply each license exactly once to TVS Manager itself. Once TVS Manager had a license, it distributed it to any applicable TVS management pack.
• Connection Diagnostics: Gave the ability to test ping and HTTP connections from the vROps web interface. These tests would otherwise require SSH access.
• Properties Updates: Let the user change properties from a single action in the web interface and then propagate the changes to all nodes in the vROps cluster.
• Log Collection: Enabled single-click log generation and bundling versus what would normally be tens of clicks on a variety of screens.

All features were made to simplify existing processes. The loss of these features results in a return to processes that require more steps.

• Solutions Licensing: Manually apply licenses for solutions.
• Connection Diagnostics: Open an SSH session to the desired node and run ping and cURL commands.
• Properties Updates: Manually update files across the cluster.
• Log Collection:  A script is now available to capture debug-level logs from an applicable management pack.
