Deleting esxi Smart Card CA certificate fails

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Attempts to delete CA certificates in esxi Smart Card Authentication fails with the following error:

"Operation Failed

A specified parameter was not correct: digest"

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 6.5
VMware vSphere ESXi 6.7

Resolution

This is a known issue.

Workaround:
Delete the esxi Smart Card Authentication CA Certificate manually:

Step 1 - Change directory to /etc/likewise/trusted_certs/

[root@esxi:~] cd /etc/likewise/trusted_certs/

Step 2  - List contents

[root@esxi:/etc/likewise/trusted_certs] ls

483b74ad.0

Step 3 - Delete the contents

[root@esxi:/etc/likewise/trusted_certs] rm 483b74ad.0

Step 4 - Confirm contents were deleted

[root@esxi:/etc/likewise/trusted_certs] ls -lh

total 0

Step 5 - Refresh the UI

vCenter vSphere Client > esxi host > Configure > Authentication Services > Smart Card Authentication
