Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • NSX 3.2.x, 4.x
  • NSX-v to NSX-T migration using Migration Coordinator
  • Intermittent packet loss is observed after completing the Edge migration phase
  • The impacted VMs are still running on NSX-v hosts
  • There are no log errors associated with this issue

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center
VMware NSX-T Data Center 4.x
VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x

Cause

After Edge migration phase, VMs on NSX-v hosts are routed via the NSX-T DR.
Due to incorrect handling by the NSX-T DR, ARP resolution is impacted which causes intermittent packet loss.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in NSX versions 3.2.3.1 and 4.1.1.

Workaround:
Proceed and complete the Host migration after which this issue will be resolved.
