Network latency observed in an NSX-T environment with IDS enabled

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• NSX-T Data Center 3.0.0 or 3.0.1
• Distributed Intrusion Detection Service (IDS) has been enabled in the environment
• Network latency is observed under high traffic load

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x
VMware NSX-T Data Center

Cause

Due to a software issue, when IDS is enabled in a 3.0.0 or 3.0.1 NSX-T environment it is possible that increased datapath latencies of up to 20ms may be observed.

Resolution

This issue has been resolved in NSX-T Data Center 3.0.2 and 3.1.0.

Workaround:
Disable IDS to resolve this issue.
