After upgrading the Horizon management pack, the adapter instance is in a warning state and fails to connect.
Testing the connection triggers an error stating, "Failed to Test adapter instance. Reason - Invalid Credentials or Expired Horizon Connection Server Certificate
," suggesting an authentication or certificate trust issue.
Failed to Test adapter instance. Reason - Invalid credentials / Invalid Account provided for Horizon Connection Server
" can also be seen in some instances while validating the connection in Aria Operations ui > Data Sources > Integrations > VMware Horizon Adapter > Edit > Validate Connection button in Aria Operations 8.17.x and earlier versions and Aria Ops ui > Administration > Integrations > VMware Horizon Adapter > Edit > Validate Connection button in Aria Operations 8.18.x and later versions.Aria Operations 8.x
Important: Take snapshots of each of the Aria Operations nodes before applying any of the steps below How to take a Snapshot of Aria Operations.
Before attempting the resolution below verify the interoperability between the version of Aria Operations and the installed version of Horizon management pack.
It is recommended to upgrade the MP4H management pack, if it is not updated to latest version (2.7.0)
Note: MP4H version 2.7.0 is the most recent stable version. Omnissa KB 6000849
Continue with the below steps, if upgrading to the latest version of the management pack has not resolved the issue.
Note: Ensure that the correct Horizon Connection Server credentials are being used in Aria Operations in Aria Operations ui > Data Sources > Integrations > VMware Horizon Adapter > Edit > Credentials section in Aria Operations 8.17.x and earlier versions and Aria Ops ui > Administration > Integrations > VMware Horizon Adapter > Edit > Credentials section in Aria Operations 8.18.x and later versions to address the Failed to Test adapter instance. Reason - Invalid credentials / Invalid Account provided for Horizon Connection Server
error.
Add the horizon connection server to the /etc/hosts file:
Open ssh session to all the Aria Operations nodes.
Edit the /etc/hosts file to add an entry for the horizon connection server.
The entry needs to be in the <ipAddress><space><FQDN> format
Where ipAddress is the ipv4 address of the connection server and FQDN is the fully qualified domain name of the connection server
Import horizon server root certificate into Aria Operations:
In Chrome or Mozilla, sign into the Horizon Administration Interface and download the root certificate .pem file of the connection server
Sign into the Aria Operations product UI interface
Navigate to Administration > Certificates (Aria Ops 8.17.x and earlier) and Administration > Control Panel > Trusted Certificates (Aria Ops 8.18.x and later) and delete the respective connection server certificate(s)
Click on the Import button in the Administration > Certificates (Aria Ops 8.17.x and earlier) and Administration > Control Panel > Trusted Certificates (Aria Ops 8.18.x and later). It will prompt to Import CA Certificate(s). Please browse to the download location of the .pem cert file downloaded in step 1 and click on the Import button in the window
