Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
When using a port other than Port
22
in the backup configuration when backing up the SDDC Manager, you experience these symptoms:
The backup of the SDDC Manager fails.
You see an error similar to:
Failed to send file to remote location.
Environment
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.0.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.2
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.1
Cause
This issue occurs as the SDDC Manager backup only functions on Port
22
.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, reconfigure backup to Port
22
.
Navigate to the SDDC Manager User Interface (UI) >
Administration
>
Backup
.
Edit the backup configuration and use Port
22
.
Click
Save
.
Once the backup is configured on Port
22
, take a backup of SDDC Manager.
