Environment

Cause

VxRail may incorrectly return an upgrade failure response to VMware SDDC Manager, which causes the VxRail Manager upgrade task to fail. The VxRail continues upgrade activity in the background and eventually returns a successful response.

Resolution

  1. Disconnect the Dell EMC support account from the Repository before performing the upgrade from the SDDC manager. Under Repository Settings for the "Dell EMC Support Account Authentication" click on Disconnect
  2. Re-enable it after the VxRail upgrade has been completed. Under Repository Settings for the "Dell EMC Support Account Authentication" click on Authenticate and fill out the username and password.
