Extended field still visible, after hidden on a global configuration form

Issue/Introduction

Why is my extended field still visible on the asset details page, when I've hidden it on an asset global configuration form?  
I'm logged into CA Asset Portfolio Manager as a user in the system administrator role.

Resolution

Extended fields are not hidden for the system administrator role when viewing the object (asset, model, contact, company, etc.) details pages.
The system administrator can see the field hidden in the configuration, but it will always show on the object details pages for the system administrator role. 
All other user roles will be governed by the configuration change and will NOT see the hidden field. 

Additional Information

A system administrator can test the configuration behavior by creating another user role, for example, named Admin, that has system administrator type permissions, and temporarily assign his or her user id to the Admin role for testing.  First remove the user id from one role before assigning it to the new role.
