NSX Network Detection and Response - Unable to delete appliance

Issue/Introduction

Problem

You are unable to deleted an offline sensor and see the error  "The appliance deletion command has failed. API Error: Appliance in use"

Solution

On-Prem

1. Ensure you are on version 8.2 (Manager version 1000) or newer
2. Ensure the appliance is offline
3. Deregister the appliance as describe in the Appliance Manual
   • To deregister appliance, click the Gear button and select Deregister from the drop-down menu.
4. From the quick links  menu for the appliance, select delete.

 

Hosted

1. Ensure the appliance is offline
2. Deregister the appliance as describe in the Sensor Manual
   • To deregister appliance, click the Gear button and select Deregister from the drop-down menu.
3. From the quick links  menu for the appliance, select delete.
