SD-WAN custom Application Map not working properly after creation

Issue/Introduction

Application Map not working correctly with new app-map entries and often customer complains about the application is not categorized correctly or display the traffic with wrong application name. 

Environment

SD-WAN by VeloCloud Edge

SD-WAN by VeloCloud Orchestrator

Cause

The category is selected with “0-Unclassified”, because  this option cant be used and due to that the application may not classify correctly. 

For example:

Based on the app-map, the traffic to destination IP - 192.168.0.230 with port 5800 should be classified as “ProjectWise” but the traffic is actually classified as APP-SSL as shown below., this because category is selected incorrectly 

 

Resolution

Need to make sure that the category is never selected with “0-Unclassified” as shown below.  This is invalid option and due to that the application may not classify correctly. 

For on prem setup , you can check it through operator user level, and for on cloud setup, please contact support and  share the APP MAP name to confirm from the same. 

If this is not the case , please create a Support case and generate diagnostic bundle from edge during the time when edge is misclassifying the application ID to check it further.
