Resolution

Please review to ensure your specific scenario is supported:
 Supported Scenarios for delivering Visual Studio when using Horizon View and AppVolumes (2149369)

1.Provisioning Machine App Capture:
Once captured, additional work is required on the parent image that you intend to deploy this package to.

2. Parent Machine Image Preparation:
  • Login as a domain user on to your gold image/ parent machine and add the following reverse replication entry to %SVAgent%\Config\Custom\app\Snapvol.cfg. Additional Reference Documentation on this is available in the AppVolumes Admin Guide
reverse_replicate_file=\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\2022\Professional\common7\IDE\devenv.exe
reverse_replicate_file=\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\2022\Professional\common7\ServiceHub\controller\Microsoft.ServiceHub.Controller.exe
  • Restart the machine and perform your standard steps to seal this image for deployment as a horizon clone.

3.Testing:
  •  Assign the package of Visual Studio 2022 Pro to an user and assign this user to a Virtual Machine created from the above image,
  •  Once the Visual Studio 2022 Package is attached , you can  run "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\2022\Professional\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe"  and you will notice launch of devenv.exe is successful with the sign in dialog box appearing.
  • Once validated, you can begin testing out this image and package with the intended users for verification before widespread production rollout.
