Issue/Introduction

The goal of this knowledge base article is to outline the process for enabling automation jobs for "delete snapshots" to complete.

Symptoms:

Aria Operations - Automation Central Jobs not completing. 

It is possible that AC job runs as expected in one environment, but in a second environment AC jobs do not complete.

 

 

 

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.12.x
VMware Aria Operations 8.14.x

VMware Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

automation central jobs for delete snapshot is not completing.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, enable reclamation settings for snapshots.

Navigate to Reclamation Settings:

Navigate to Optimize -> Reclaim -> Settings

Make sure  "Snapshots" option is checked.

 

note: Automation Central's reclamation jobs work based on the reclamation Settings.

Checking "Snapshots" in reclamation settings does not actually run anything, but is a required configuration baseline for manual actions in the UI or Automation Central jobs.
