Disabling vApp options removes an important properties

Issue/Introduction

This article helps make customers aware that disabling vApp options will remove their properties. This may prevent proper functioning of the vApp across host remediation workflows that involve a VM suspend.

Symptoms:
vApp functionality will not function properly if vApp options are disabled and a host remediation operation that suspends the VM is performed.

Cause

Whenever the vApp options are disabled, its properties are removed. These properties are utilized by remediation workflows to ensure that only VMs that can function correctly across a suspend and resume are suspended.

Resolution

Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:
To workaround this issue, do not uncheck Enable vApp options in the VM's Configure -> vApp Option -> Edit page.
