[VMC on AWS] VMs getting stuck at boot manager on reboot

Issue/Introduction

To detail the workaround to this known issue.

Symptoms:
When VM is rebooted, you receive error message "The guest operating system on the virtual machine failed to reboot"

Cause

Sometimes, when rebooted via the guest OS, the customer's VDI (windows 10) VMs fail to reboot and end up in the boot manager.

Resolution

A permanent fix is being investigated and worked on to be released in a future SDDC version.

Workaround:
Enable Failed Boot recovery in Edit settings > Boot Options > Failed Boot Recovery. Leave default timeout to 10 seconds.
This setting will need to stay enabled until a permanent fix is available.

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:
The customer will be unable to boot the VM.
Implementing the workaround will have no production impact.
