[VMC on AWS] Step 10 of failover plan taking longer than expected to complete

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

On step 10 of a failover plan, which usually takes only a few moments to complete, this task specifically is taking a very long time to complete.

Similar log entries to these will be seen during the delay:

Cause

TRIM/UNMAP features not disabled on VM prior to performing the failover.  This results in sync operations for the HMS group to consistently be made and delays the completion of the task. 

Resolution

Prior to initiating a failover disable the TRIM/UNMAP feature.
