No CurrentUtilization data being populated for 100Mb/s Ethernet interface

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

A 64 bit counter needs to be supported within the MIB of the device in question. The 64 bit counters are ifHCInOctets (1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6) and ifHCOoutOctets (1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.10).

The 32 bit counters are ifInOctets (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10) and ifOutOctets (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16).

Resolution

Contact device vendor if 64 bit counter is missing from the return when you have interfaces that are greater than 20 MB.

Additional Information

Running the following against the device for oid's 1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6 and 1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.10 shows no 64 bit counter available on the interfaces in question.
