Interface status UNKNOWN due to removal of the interface object from SNMP poller in SMARTS

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:




No other notification is generated that causes a failure in the path leading to this interface
Managed interface shows status as UKNOWN

SMARTS AM server was not restarted

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

The SNMP poller has taken the interface off of the SNMP accessor and is no longer polling this interface.

Resolution

Execute an unmange, manage and reconfigure in the Smarts AM administration console for the affected interfaces.  Contact EMC Technical Support or your local service representative if this problem reappears without explanation.
