How can I disconnect a client from a Smarts Service Assurance Manager (Smarts SAM) server?

Smarts SAM server is hanging because of to client connections

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Resolution

Every client attached to the server will have following entries in the sm_monitor/clients folder:

Id           User      Privs   Host        PID                Since                                 Description                        Client Version

189630    root        ALL      ABC          unknown      11-Mar-2013 02:52:02 PM   CET  Perl-Client-22900-1      Foundation-Perl-Client/7.2.0.1 (100505; Build 139; Perl 5.008008; linux)

In the above output, 189630 is the client ID for Perl Client-22900-1. The following dmctl command to disconnect this client from the Smarts SAM server:

dmctl -s sam-server exec dmdedug --disconnect=clientId [189630]
