sm_snmp command is adding extra Smarts varbind.
IPV6's sm_snmp send trap command is adding Smarts varbind while IP 7.0.3 does not.

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

IPv6 is on foundation version 7.2, while IP 7.0.3 is on foundation 7.0.2.   The two additional varbinds were added to the SMARTS MIB to support IPv6 since the SNMPv1 trap PDU format does not allow for IPv6 addresses.

.1.3.6.1.4.1.733.6.3.18.1.5.0 = 1
.1.3.6.1.4.1.733.6.3.18.1.6.0 = 0A 09 01 02

The first varbind indicates if the source is a IPv6 address. The second varbind is the IP address of the source in hexadecimal.

This is critical for trap forwarding.   EMC Smart's SNMP API does not differentiate between a created trap and a forwarded trap.

Resolution

This is working as expected.
