What do the different certification levels for devices in Smarts mean?

VALIDATED This is the highest level of certification.  Smarts has successfully field tested the device with InCharge using generic and private MIBs supplied by the vendor.
('VALIDATED' became a deprecated term as of IDS-412-009)
CERTIFIED Smarts has successfully tested a simulation of the device in the Smarts laboratory using generic and private MIBs supplied by the vendor.
TEMPLATE Smarts assumes that the device supports some generic and private MIBs, but no testing has been done.  Therefore, this device may not be properly supported by the particular InCharge application that is installed.
GENERIC Smarts does not have the OID for the device.  Devices with a certification level of GENERIC are instances/elements of the Node class.  The level of analysis will be equivalent to any device which supports MIB-II.
