vCloud Usage Meter 4.4 OVF deployment fails with the error: "Invalid value 'false' specified for property retain-usage-data"

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Deployment of vCloud Usage Meter 4.4 fails via the vSphere Client (HTML5) on vCenter 6.5 with the error: "Invalid value 'false' specified for property "retain-usage-data". The deployment fails no matter if "Retain usage data" is checked or not during the Usage Meter configuration.

Environment

VMware vCloud Usage Meter 4.x

Cause

This is a known issue with the vSphere Client (HTML5) for vCenter Server 6.5. It is also seen with the OVF deployment of other products.

Resolution

Upgrade vCenter to 6.7 and later.

Workaround:
As a workaround, we recommend that you deploy Usage Meter via an ESXi host client.
