Data upload failure notification is sent for Usage Meter in offline mode

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Even though Usage Meter is deployed in offline mode, the customer still receives email notifications from vCloud Usage Insight that data upload is not made.

The following email notification is received.

Usage Meter (f746daf2-6441-4b4d-8cf2-xxxxxxxxxxxxx) is not uploading product usage data.

Environment

VMware vCloud Usage Meter 4.x

Cause

This is a known issue, and the vCloud Usage Meter R&D team is currently working on it.

Resolution

Currently, there is no resolution. These notifications must be manually disabled in the back-end.

Workaround:
Raise a support request with VMware, mentioning the UM UUID triggering the notifications to get them disabled.
