Usage Meter collection fails with the error "Exception in getLicenses"

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
vCenter collection fails with the error "Exception in getLicenses" in vccol_main.log.

Environment

Usage Meter 4.x 

Cause

This issue appears when Usage Meter tries to fetch license details from vCenter for a host, which is being metered.

When Usage Meter makes a query to vCenter to get the host license details, it fails, causing a collection error.

To reproduce this issue, do the following:

1. Go to the vCenter URL, e.g.,  https://fqdn/mob/?moid=LicenseAssignmentManager&method=queryAssignedLicensesEx.
2. Click on Invoke Method. The expected result is a page showing licensing information as per the screenshot below.

The vCenter with the collection error "Exception in getLicenses" will throw an error like "Method Invocation Result: Security Error.

Resolution

Ask the customer to raise a ticket with the vCenter team to resolve the issue as this is not an issue with Usage Meter.
